Plasma Verruca Treatment
Verrucas
Verrucas are also known as plantar warts caused by the Human Papilloma Virus or HPV. As you walk they are pushed into the foot giving them a flat appearance unlike on other parts of the body where they can be raised lumps.
Treated quickly after they appear with over the counter products from the chemist they can often be resolved easily and simply.
Sometimes they get too large, stubborn or go unnoticed and then they become difficult to treat chemically and need more invasive treatment.
There are many methods of treating verrucas but they can be very painful and costly.
Plasma fibroblast is a virtually painless way to treat a verruca. Using new plasma technology the verruca is 'vaporised' by sublimation this also creates a crust/scab over the verruca so there is no need for a dressing.
A plasma pen with a fine needle probe is used so there is pinpoint accuracy and no damage to the surrounding skin, the needle doesn't actually touch the skin so its very hygienic.
Plasma is considered as the fourth state of matter; solid, liquid, gas and plasma.
The principle is to ionize gases in the air to create a small electrical arc, similar to a tiny lightning bolt, without any unwanted damage to surrounding areas. The plasma causes instant contraction and tightening of skin fibres causing shortening of the targeted fibres, thus resulting in the reduction of the skin surface. This triggers the body to repair the area and thus resolving the verruca.
